Rules

• Balle (Tama) diamètre de 60mm (+/- 1mm)
• Manche (Ken) hauteur de 160mm (+/- 1mm)
• Hauteur totale (Tama sur le Ken) 185mm (+/- 5mm)
• Traverse (Sarado) (pièce avec deux coupes)  70mm (+/- 1mm)

 

Les listes suivantes montrent quelles modifications sont permises ou pas aux kendamas. Les juges peuvent employer leur discrétion, et s’il y a n’importe quel doute, ils peuvent demander à un participant d’employer un kendama différent et de refaire la certification.

Modifications permises au Kendama:

• Remplacement de la corde
• Re-ficeler la corde, droitier à gaucher, ou vice-versa
• Ajouter ou remplacer une bille de corde
• Coller le sarado au ken
• Renforcer le bout du ken avec de la colle (sur l’extrémité du bout arrondi / pointu seulement) et non sur la surface du ken
• Faire un noeud à la corde au-dessus de la balle, pour empêcher l’extrémité de la corde (nœud/bille) de sortir
• Usure normale d’utilisation

Modifications rejetées :

• Ajouter de la colle sur les surfaces
• Altérer la surface de la balle (peinture) de quelque façon
• Refaire la pointe du ken avec de la résine ou autres matières
• Ajouter des inscriptions au ken ou la balle
• Enlever les sceaux ou inscriptions originaux
• Interchanger des composantes ou toutes autres modifications

Certification approuved Kendama 

Kendama Canada currently approves the following Kendama models for Certification:  / All Kendama brands that meets the following international dimensions Standards:

• Ball (Tama) diameter 60mm (+ / – 1mm)
• Handle (Ken) height 160mm (+ / – 1mm)
• Overall Height (Tama on Ken) 185mm (+ / – 5mm)
• Traverse (Sarado) (piece with two cups) 70mm (+ / – 1mm)

 

The following lists show what changes are Allowed or Not to kendamas. Judges may use their discretion, and if there is any doubt, they can ask a participant to use a different kendama and do a re-certification.

Permitted Kendama Modifications :

• Replacing the string
• Re-tie the string, right-handed to left or vice versa
• Add or replace a ball bead on a string
• Glue sarado on ken
• Strengthen the ken ends with glue (on the end of the sharp edge only) and not on the surface of ken
• Tie a knot in the string above the ball, to prevent the end of the string (bead / ball) to get out
• Wear and tear of use

Rejected Modifications:

• Adding glue to surfaces
• Altering the surface of the ball (painting) in any way
• Add ken tip with resin or other materials
• Add stickers or marking to the ball or ken
• Remove the seals or original inscriptions
• Interchange components or other modifications
